One Less Thing: 30 Lunchbox Ideas So You Don't Have to Think About It

August 6, 2026

Between the schedules, the school forms, the sports signups, and the never-ending question of "what's for dinner," moms are carrying a lot right now. So here's one thing we can take off your plate: school lunches.

We put together 30 easy lunchbox combinations - mains, fruits, crunchy sides, and sweet treats - all laid out like little recipe cards you can scroll through in about the time it takes to pour your coffee. Some use products you can grab ready-made at Trader Joe's, Aldi, Publix, or Harris Teeter. Others are just simple combinations that come together in minutes. Either way, the thinking is already done for you.

Scroll through, pick a handful that sound good to your kid (and to you), and use them to plan out the week. No more standing in front of the pantry at 7am wondering what to pack. Just grab, build, done.  In fact, many of these can be packed the night before, making your mornings a little smoother.

With everything else on your plate this time of year, we're happy to lift the mental load just a little.

Have a lunchbox combo your kids actually beg for? We'd love to add it to the list - email us your favorite and we may feature it in a future roundup.

And if you know another mom who could use a little less to think about this week, go ahead and send this her way. She'll thank you.

We'll keep bringing you the small, practical tips that make busy mom life just a bit easier. That's what we're here for.
